What Is It?

One could be tempted to ignorantly answer this question, “A paper towel? What is a paper towel? Everyone knows what a paper towel is!”. Oh you dear, misguided friend…you couldn’t be more wrong.

Everyone knows what the common misconception of a paper towel is, yes! But Viva is in a class all it’s own. It’s a hybrid of shop towel, rag, sponge, and paper towel. Read on for the explanation of why that matters, and why you should care.

Competition Comparison

There are countless paper towel brands out there. I’d wager that’d I’ve tried about 90% of them in the search for the perfect one. Hear me when I tell you…the day I tried Viva I knew right then and there my search was over.

This is not to say that there aren’t other quality options available! There truly are. Bounty makes an excellent paper towel. But let me further explain to you why everything else on the market fall short.

Primarily, paper towels are after absorbency. A measurement that serves to solve part of the problem, but falls short in most every other. It’s great that if my kid spills grape juice on the carpet, the quilted-quicker-picker-upper can soak the liquid up quickly and completely. But what about when it comes time to scrub? To really clean that stain and ensure your carpet is as good as new? 5 passes with a lesser paper towel and you’ll have so many pieces of it flying around you’ll have to get out the vacuum! Not with Viva.

The way they’ve built a Viva paper towel make it more cloth rag than paper. Here’s one of the most blatant indicators of its strength. Lay out any other paper towel you can find, and give it a good tug. After only a small amount of pressure, it’ll tear right in half. Do the same with a Viva paper towel and watch it stretch…adjusting to where you are applying pressure. Ladies and gentlemen, that’s what we’re after! What that means more practically is that when you go to scrub, rub, or otherwise wipe down surfaces/items…it’s going to adjust to the snags  that common cleaning chores include.

There are other quality options out there, yes. But only in 1 or 2 of the major areas of evaluation. Viva checks every single one of them. There is simply no other brand out there doing it as well as they are.

  • These things are practically rags. You can scrub a 2×4 and see minimal tearing. It’s a sight to behold.
• Ease of Tear at the Perforation
  • There aren’t many things in my life that put me off as much as tearing a paper towel only to get 83.5% of it off the roll. Irks me to no end. This is another way that Viva shines. Because of its durability and its flexibility, you get a clean tear and full sheet every time. Simply a delight.
• Flexibility
  • As I mentioned above, Viva’s flexibility allows it to adjust and accommodate some very extreme cleaning tasks. It doesn’t tear and ball up like most other paper towels out there. This opens up applications you would have never previously thought to use a paper towel for!

Let’s Get Practical

All of the above describes the product itself, what it does, and how it differentiates itself from others like it.

But let’s talk about what it all comes back to. What does using this product actually look like in day-to-day use? Awesome…it has a bunch of cool features…but in practice, are they actually helpful?

I can answer that question only with my experience. With how I put this product to use in my own life to make it easier, more efficient, more consistent, more fun, whatever the case may be. Your experience will, of course, be different. But this should give you a place to start. You can at least read on with the knowledge that no products make it on this site without being a thoroughly tested, tried-and-true part of some area of my life!

I use these things for just about every household task you could imagine! In fact, I use them in my garage! I for real use them like shop towels. They are thick and absorbent enough that you can use them as a straight-up coaster, durable enough to use while working on an engine, and delicate enough to wipe down the dinner table. I’ve literally used them for all 3 of those things.

  • Quality aint cheap. The price is going to be hard to swallow the first few times you check out with them. But before long they’ll be more important to you than underwear. So…it quickly becomes a non-issue.
